What is BASI Pilates?
BASI Pilates stands for Body Arts and Science International and was founded in 1989 by Rael Isacowitz, a former dancer and exercise scientist. With a passion for both the art and science of movement, he developed a training program that stays true to the classical principles of Joseph Pilates, but combines them with modern insights into anatomy and kinesiology. Today, BASI is active in more than 50 countries and has trained more than 50,000 certified instructors.
